Socio-Ecological Technology Integration (SETI)
The socio-ecological technology integration framework is for those who understand that technology integration is more than just having access to technology.
For educators to integrate technology, they need so much more than just having access to technology. This framework highlights the socio and ecological factors that need to be taken into account, such as training, tech support, and policies. While also taking into account individual beliefs and national socio-cultural tech norms. This framework supports educators and educational leaders in understanding all the aspects that ensure effective technology integration.
The educator integrating technology is in the center with the systems surrounding the educator. The school-to-national levels are highlighted to show what influences technology integration at each system level.
Educator: The educator’s individual beliefs and family cultural tech norms play a strong part in how the educator integrates the technology.
Microsystem: The school factors.
Exosystem: School system/district factors.
Macrosystem: Nation/country factors.
Mesosystem: The mesosystem uses arrows to highlight that a component of one system (e.g., policies) may also be found in the other systems.
